Since its inception, CDL Laboratories has always been recognized by the quality of its medical analyses. This is due, in large part, to a rigorous system of quality control. The advantage of having such a system is the assurance of a superior quality control program, with the most precise and accurate patient results.

   The strict CDL quality control system is comprised of the following five steps:

1. A rigorous daily internal quality control program including patient controls whenever necessary, and calibration of instrumentation according to manufacturers' recommendations.
2. Four external quality control programs:
   
   • Laboratoire de Santé Publique du Québec (L.S.P.Q.)
   • Health Canada
   • College of American Pathologists (C.A.P .)
   • Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme (RIQAS)
     
3. All analyses are performed and verified by our registered medical laboratory technologists. In addition, the results are reviewed and approved by our Chief Scientific Officer, Andrew Weigensberg (Ph.D., F.C.A.C.B.) before being sent to our clients.
4. CDL is one of the rare private medical diagnostic laboratories in Quebec to respect the G.L.P. (Good Laboratory Practice) regulations by using expert consultants in this field. All CDL procedures and forms meet the stringent G.L.P. standards (similar to ISO for the medical diagnostic laboratory industry).
5. An independent quality assurance company performs inspections at CDL on a regular basis in order to ensure that all procedural guidelines are followed by our team.

   CDL is the first private medical diagnostic laboratory in its sector of activity to possess four separate medical laboratory permits (biochemistry, haematology, serology and microbiology, which allow CDL to perform over 98% of requested tests in-house.

   This high level of excellence has enabled CDL to become the only private medical diagnostic laboratory in Quebec to obtain C.A.P accreditation, which is obligatory in order to serve the American market. This permit is issued by the College of American Pathologists , an institution whose criteria and quality control are extremely high. In addition, CDL obtained the CLIA license as well as the New York State (NYS) license whose criteria and quality control are clearly the most rigorous and demanding within the medical diagnostic laboratory industry in North America . It is worth noting that CDL is the only laboratory in Quebec to hold the NYS license and the second one in Canada .

  CDL will soon share its expertise and scientifical findings with its prestige partner, world leader Roche Diagnostics. Roche Diagnostics will distribute CDL's know-how to both public and private healthcare facilities in Canada and throughout the world.

  This program can establish patient risk for the development of cardiac disease within a ten year period, simply by filling out an easy questionnaire and having a blood sample drawn. The profile can also compare the patient’s risk with his/her gender and age group, provide education regarding the implementation of lifestyle modifications necessary for risk reduction, and inform the patient about his/her ideal cholesterol level, weight and blood pressure.
